week off /obvious revelation

No, its not that I fell behind, but rather I was in Toronto for a week and didn't train at all. Hence, nothing to write. Since I was helping my sister move we were eating out a lot, eating at odd times, and sleeping on the sofa didn't help boost any energy levels either.

Since I came back though, there has been a swim/water polo, and some running outdoors. I know most of you have stomachs of steel but I don't. Lately, I go run outside, and my stomach goes out of whack and I have to run home to the bathroom. Grrr... I wish I knew what was wrong.

In the last few weeks, I've been having some good times at the workouts, but I'm sure its thanks to me sleeping lots... easily 9hrs/night...

nutty swim

I felt so sore after doing weights on Tuesday, yet I managed to hold ~1.31 for my 2x{400ez, 5x100 test, 100ez}. 1.34,1.32,1.30,1.30,1.29 then 1.32,1.32,1.31,1.31,1.31
weird. anyway, I guess my swimming is going somewhere.

catching up: saturday spin, (felt good) sunday swim, quick run ~40mins?, mon swim, tues: weights (am) wed: spin & run. 3x{2x800m} Another weird one. Sore after the weights but was almost -11secs on the 800s (50sec/200 pace) new cumulus feel long... sigh. should've stuck with the 2110's...

woohoo 1.5hr run

So, despite my extreme lethargy today, I ended up doing a 1.5 hr run on mt.royal. It was cold (the wind was a b-tch) and very lonely but once I was near the cross, I felt really good. It had been a long time since I went all the way up there (usually its been to the lake or chalet and back). I always find it easier to run in the winter...

The week has been a bit of disarray. Last Friday I think I ran, Sat. spin, then the x-mas party. I think I went to bed around 3am that night. Tried to swim the next day, probably did about 1000m. Same with Monday. Wednesday I did spin and felt good, hitting the HR targets, and then did an easy run in the evening. Last night we did 2x400m "pace". Goal was 7mins, did 6:38 and 6:30. Woops. K says that if I can hit these times for 800's, things look good :)

ps. for those looking for Aki updates, he's definitely growing. Actually he kind of looks dead right now because he had his first serving of wet food. (the whiskas stuff that comes in the sealed bags) He was gobbling it up like a madman. He scratches everything, and still attacks my legs/feet sometimes... I hope he learns some discipline soon...
