mm cat barf

Aki barfed. Not even a foot away from the litterbox. I'm hoping(or wishing) that he was on his way to the litterbox but didn't make it (the way humans do.) I think the silly bugger ate too much.

constant gardener/day 14 of sickness

I woke up today all clear, no coughs, with a happy purring kitty resting his tired head and front paws on my outstretched arm. It was short lived though, after about 10 minutes I started having some big sneezing :) But I *do* feel a lot better now. Hopefully I will spin on Saturday!

today's one dollar rental was the constant gardener. my bad. It was good. I really wanted to love it, but something is holding me back. I know 'becca would've enjoyed it so I'll have to rewatch it sometime with her as she liked the director's previous work "City of God".

The love story really got to me. Aside from the great acting & script, I found that I could relate to the characters. I am completely uninterested in people most of the time, yet 'becca needs the attention of all. Always running around, challenging people, full of life; the opposite of me. And yet, there's something there between us, and I know for myself, complete trust. I'm just saying... I could not be any luckier.

Aki's version of the holidays

this picture sums up Aki's interaction with Linus: fun fun fun. [Linus seemed annoyed but I think he enjoyed having a little friend.]
And of course, curiosity...

damn cold.

Some of the other blogs got some updates so I might as wrap-up and start over. Christmas was uneventful, boxing day was fruitless, and the rest of the holidays were miserable fighting this damn cold that's been giving me ups and downs. I'm so tired all the time. So that's what I've been up to, and that's why I haven't been consistenly training. Everytime I start I think I made the cold get worse again. So I'm doing nothing until I'm all good.

What I *have* been doing is watching movies. (Damn dollar rentals). Red Eye was pretty boring. If anything it seemed like a crappy version of Flightplan which was better. Worth a 1$, nothing more. Kingdom of Heaven was a shortie I rented to watch some action -but geez, it took so stinking long for any action to surface. Too much religion babble and Orlando Bloom is not hero material. March of the Penguins was cute but I'm happy I didn't see it in the theatre. Do people not watch PBS? It didn't seem any more than some documentary. Beautiful footage, sure, but 1.5hrs of it? Someone needs to spend more time in the editing room. 40-Year-Old Virgin was pretty tame. I didn't care much for the character, and didn't think it was the riot people said it was. Maybe I'm a prune. Man I saw more than I thought... Mr & Mrs. Smith wasn't fun either. Too much shooting, near the end I was looking at the clock to see how much more there would be. This is boring to write...

So why is it that an easy conversation starter is "seen anything good lately?". Cuz I haven't. Even the 2005 Cannes commercials at Cinema du Parc was mediocre at best... I guess the last thing I saw that I liked was King Kong but that seems like ages ago...
